How to Import Trades from TradeStation to TradesViz Step-by-Step Guide

Quick Start


To import your file from TradeStation, visit https://tradesviz.com/import/.

Use the first dropdown to choose your trading account and the second dropdown to choose TradeStation.


You can also open Import/Export from your profile menu in the top-right corner.

  1. Navigate to TradeManager in your TradeStation application.
  2. Select the "Orders" tab on the bottom of the screen.
  3. From the "Status" drop-down at the top of the same screen, select "Filled Orders".
  4. Now select the date range according to your preferences and click on the "Retrieve Orders" button.
  5. Copy all the content by pressing Ctrl+A and then Ctrl+C (Note: Please make sure the column headers are also selected!)
  6. Paste (Ctrl+V) the copied content into the empty text area below and then click "Upload" at the bottom of the page.


Note:

If you have a lot of spread trades in your account, the prices will not be correctly imported. Use the alternative import method given below.

But the format below does not have HH:MM:SS data! TradesViz fills it in as 09:30 as default.


Alternative Format 1:


  1. Go to clientcenter.tradestation.com
  2. Go to Accounts > Equities > Trades and other Transactions
  3. In this window, select your desired date range and select web as the format.
  4. Copy all the content by pressing Ctrl+A and then Ctrl+C (Note: Please make sure the column headers are also selected!)
  5. Paste (Ctrl+V) the copied content into the empty text area below and then click "Upload" at the bottom of the page.



Alternative Format 2:


  1. Log into your TradeStation account by going to www.tradestation.com
  2. Go to Accounts > Equities Accounts > Tax Center
  3. In this window, select your account number, file format as TradeLog and your preferred date range and click "Download".
  4. Open this CSV file via Excel and Copy all the content by pressing Ctrl+A and then Ctrl+C
  5. Paste (Ctrl+V) the copied content into the empty text area below and then click "Upload" at the bottom of the page.



Alternative Format 3:


  1. Log into your TradeStation account by going to www.tradestation.com
  2. Go to Accounts > Futures > Trades & Other Transactions
  3. In this window, select your account number, and select "Trade Blotter (CSV)" as Transaction Type
  4. Open this CSV file via Excel and Copy all the content by pressing Ctrl+A and then Ctrl+C
  5. Paste (Ctrl+V) the copied content into the empty text area below and then click "Upload" at the bottom of the page.


NOTE:If the CSV files from Alternative format 2,3 does not work, please try importing the CSV file directly by choosing "TradeStation (CSV)" as the platform.


Troubleshooting


  • Follow the exact export format shown below for your broker.
  • If import fails, re-export a fresh file and try again.
  • Ensure required columns are present and headers are unchanged.

Why does my import fail?

Can I import only a date range?


Yes. Export the date range you want from your broker and import that file into TradesViz.
