How to import trades from Interactive Brokers to TradesViz trading journal?


To import your file, please visit https://tradesviz.com/import by selecting the import button at the bottom left corner of your dashboard or by clicking on your profile icon at the top right corner and selecting "Import/Export". Next, select your trading account in the first dropdown and then the platform as Interactive Brokers in the second dropdown.


Interactive Brokers Import Instructions

  1. Go to IB account portal and sign-in with your username and password.
  2. On the top of the dashboard, click on the "Performance & Reports" and then click on "Third-Party Reports" in the dropdown.
  3. In the Third-Party Reports page, be sure to select the account(s) from which you want to import the trades from by clicking on the account ID link on the top near "Third-Party Reports" text.
  4. Select "TradeLog" in the Provider section
  5. Select the period according to your preference and click "Download". Make sure a valid date period where you have made trades is selected! Otherwise the import will not work since the file will be empty!
  6. A file with the extension '.tlg' will automatically be downloaded.
  7. Upload this file by clicking on the "Choose File" box in this page.




Vanguard Import Instructions

  1. Log into your Vanguard home page, select "My accounts" and then "Transaction history"
  2. In the Transaction history page, select "Download"
  3. Select "CSV" in Step 1 and the date range in Step 2 as per your preference
  4. Download and upload this file by clicking on the "Choose file" box in this page.



World Trade Forex Import Instructions

  1. Log into your WorldTradeForex account, click on Menu and then on Account History
  2. Choose your preferred date range and click Apply
  3. Export the trades in CSV format
  4. Download and upload this file by clicking on the "Choose file" box in this page.



RBC Direct Investing Import Instructions

  1. Log into your RBC Direct Invest home page
  2. Click on your account number and select the preferred date period to export and click on download CSV
  3. Upload this file by clicking on the "Choose file" box in this page.



TopStepX Import Instructions

  1. Log TopStepX home page (http://topstepx.com/trade)
  2. Select Trades at the bottom of the page and click on "EXPORT" button to download the CSV file
  3. Upload this file by clicking on the "Choose file" box in this page.


DO NOT USE ANY OTHER FORMATS! Only the trades export will show you correct stats.


Please make sure to choose the correct timezone as broker import timezone (you can open the file to check the zone/offset).



ICICI Securities Import Instructions

SamsungPop Import Instructions

Tradetron Import Instructions

  1. Log into your Tradetron account and select "Strategies" from the menu at the top.
  2. Now select then select "Deployed" to get to the deployed strategies page
  3. Click on the three dots on the top right corner of the strategy and select "Download Data" to download the excel file.
  4. Download and upload this file by clicking on the "Choose file" box in this page.



DXtrade Import Instructions

  2. Navigate to "Trading Journal" and make sure to open a tab for "Order History"

Orders tab

  1. Right click at the top of the table and click on view page source (this is for Chrome, you will find the same options for Firefox also)
  2. You will now see a developer console open on the right side of your window. Scroll up and click on the element that says "scrollable__scrollable__.."

HeldenTrader Import Instructions

  2. Now choose report type "Executed Orders Report" or "Order History Report" and select your preferred date range.

JPM Chase Import Instructions

  3. Select a preferred date range by choosing "Custom date range" option in the dropdown
  4. Once the data is displayed, click on "Things you can do" and then on the CSV option under "Export as" sub-menu

Robinhood Auto Import Instructions

  1. Click on "Login" button at the bottom of this page under "Additional Information"
  2. Enter your username and password in the popup box and click "Submit"

If you have 2-FA enabled:


  • Enter the 2-FA code after the submission prompt and click "Submit" again
  • Account data sync will start after after the above step


If you do NOT have 2-FA:


  • The first time you clicked on submit should automatically start the data sync


Note: We highly suggest using an authenticator app based 2-FA method for easy sync connection.

  5. In the new History window select "More History"
  6. Select the date range, click "Search"

Note: If Excel does not work for you, try to export as CSV or save as CSV and upload that file.

Note: If none of the imports work, try opening your file and check if your file has column headers. If not, please make sure to export with column headers.

  1. Go to Questrade reports and then Account activity.
  2. Now select the dates of activity and also the account.
  3. Unselect all the options under "Activity types" except for "Trades".
  4. Click on export to XLSX and upload this file by clicking on the "Choose File" box in this page.


Note: The above format does not have full timestamps. If you want more accurate data representation, we suggest you export from the IQ Edge platform using the instructions below.


Alternative Instructions:


  1. Open the IQ Edge platform and select "Tools" and then "Account".
  2. Select the "Executions" tab.
  3. Right click anywhere within the Executions window and select "Edit columns".
  4. Make sure atleast the following columns are selected: Symbol, Description, Action, Fill price, Fill qty, Account, Commission, Total Value, Time Placed, Exec time.
  5. Click "OK" to save these settings.
  6. Now again, right click anywhere within the Executions window and select "Export" and save the CSV file.
  7. Upload this file by clicking on the "Choose File" box in this page.

  1. Login to Questrade.com Click on Individial FX & CFD account
  2. Click on "Historical reports" tab on top menu and then click "open" under trades menu
  3. Selec the preferred date range and the type of trades you want to export and click export

Fidelity Instructions

  1. Log into your Fidelity account.
  2. Click on "Accounts & Trade", and select Portfolio. [OR] Click on "Accounts"
  3. Click the "Activity & Orders" tab, and expand the History section. [OR] Click on "Hisory"
  4. Choose the your preferred export duration time period and click "Go". Note: Please remember Set the sort order to sort by ascending date.
  5. Click the download link on the right side of the page and save the CSV.
  6. Upload this file by clicking on the "Choose File" box in this page.


Note: Alternative instructions offer a way to import data with timestamp. But you need to import the file on the same day of trading.

  1. Log into your Active Trader Pro platform.
  2. Click on "Trade & Orders" and then click "Orders"
  3. Right-click anywhere on the new window that popped up and click "Export" in the new menu to export a CSV file.

HSBC Bank Instructions

MotiveWave Instructions

Currently Supported:

  1. Log in to MotiveWave and connect to your preferred broker.
  2. Select the "Account" tab at the bottom of the MotiveWave console.
  3. Now select the "Trades" tab on the top of the bottom window section.
  4. Click on the "Export to CSV File" icon on the right side of the window to download your trades.
  5. Upload this file by clicking on the "Choose File" box in this page.


Note: If you are using multiple accounts in Motivewave, the csv file would contain executions from all accounts.


If this is the case for you, please makes sure to create trading accounts on TradesViz that have exactly the same names as the account names in the "Account" column in the csv file and import the same csv into each trading account in TradesViz.


TradesViz will NOT split a single csv and distribute the trades into each trading accounts.



Example: If you have 2 trading accounts named Account1 and DemoAccount1 in your file, create 2 trading accounts with these names in TradesViz.


Then first import the csv file into Account1 by choosing Account1 as the trading account in this import page and repeat the same for DemoAccount1.


If no matching accounts are found in the csv, all executions will be imported in the selected TradesViz trading account.



Rithmic Trader Pro Instructions

Currently Supported:

  1. In R Trader, go to "Recent Orders" or "Order History" if you want to export older trades.
  2. Select the account you want to export along with the date.
  3. Right-click anywhere in the column headings in the Completed Orders section, click Add/Remove columns, add the "Qty Filled", "Order Number" columns and click OK.
  4. Export as a CSV file by clicking on the clipboard icon at the top and save it anywhere on your PC.
  5. Upload this file by clicking on the "Choose File" box in this page.


Note: Please use only CSV files. Do not rename a xlsx or xls to CSV and upload. It will not work. Instead, open the xlsx/xls file and save it as CSV and then upload.



Wealthsimple Trader Pro Instructions

  3. Click on "Download CSV" for the months you want to export

  5. Upload this file by clicking on the "Choose File" box in this page.

  2. On the left side, on "Order History" under the asset type you are tradnig (spot/margin ect.,)

  5. Now click on the dropdown that has the TradingView logo (or relevant platform's logo through which you are trading)
  6. Now select "Export data"
  7. In the popup that appears, click on "History" and click "Export"
  8. Upload the CSV file by clicking on the "Choose File" box in this page.


Note: Please make sure your export file has the columns in English. Here is an image that can help you identify the correct page.

Note: If you see incorrect pnl or open position, it is likely due to missing data in the file. TradingView continually deletes older data so you csv might not have ALL the data.


Therefore, if you do see open positions or wrong pnl after import, open your CSV file and check the last few rows to see if it has complete information for that date. If not, delete those rows for that incomplete date and import again.

  4. In the type filter, make sure "Any" is selected

Note: For older desktop versions, please make sure that columns such as execution time, price are present in the csv file.   1. Log into your CMEG account and navigate to Reports > Serarch > Executions
  2. Choose your preferred date range and click on Find
  3. Click on "Export to Excel" link at the top right corner of the executions table
  4. Convert your .xls format to .xlsx or .csv by opening your file in Excel and save as ".xlsx" or ".csv" file.
  5. Download this Excel file and upload it by clicking on the "Choose File" box in this page.

Optimus Futures Import Instructions

  1. At the top of the trading window, on the far left side of the 'Control Center Toolbar', click on the logo icon.
  2. In the 'Sidebar' screen, under the 'Portfolio' group, click on the 'Orders History' panel.
  3. When the 'Orders History' panel appears, in the top left-hand corner of the window, click on the hamburger icon. When the drop-down menu appears, click 'Export Data'.
  4. When the 'Export to file' window appears, select the columns of data you wish to export. By default, the export format is set to 'Comma separated'.
  5. Make sure all the columns are selected
  6. When ready, click the 'Export File' button.
  7. Download this CSV file and upload it by clicking on the "Choose File" box in this page.



InteractiveInvestor Import Instructions

  1. Log into your InteractiveInvestor account and select "Portfolio" and then "Transaction History" from the menu
  2. Select your Account number, desired date range and currency (Note: The csv files will only download transactions in currency. If you have transactions in multiple currency, please make sure you are choosing the appropriate options and download more csv files).
  3. Select Export to download the CSV file
  4. Download this CSV file and upload it by clicking on the "Choose File" box in this page.



Guardian Trading Import Instructions

Currently Supported:

  1. Log into your Guardian Trading account and click on "Activity"
  2. Select your preferred start and ending date you want to export and click on "Go"
  3. Click on the Excel icon at the bottom fo the page to download the Excel file
  4. Open the Excel file and conver it to CSV by clicking on "Save as" to CSV in Excel program
  5. Upload this CSV file by clicking on the "Choose File" box in this page.



TradesViz Format Import Instructions

  1. On the left side of this page, click on "Export/Manage" and then "Export Uploads" tab
  2. Select an account from the account list and scroll down to the downloads section
  3. Select "Executions" for Export Type and "Native" for Currency and click "Download"
  4. Save the downloaded CSV file anywhere you want and upload it by clicking on the "Choose File" box in this page.



Custom/Generic Format Import Instructions

  1. Click here to download the CSV (spreadsheet) and fill in the values manually according to the columns and upload the file.
  2. Please note: Custom format and TradesViz format are not the same! Please use only the above sample file with the Custom format selection!


Note: In addition to the columns listed listed in the same format, you can also add stop_loss and profit_target columns!
